On behalf of the City of McKinney and the McKinney Economic Development Corporation, I am pleased to present McKinney, Texas as a deserving recipient of an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO) status with the International Economic Development Council.

McKinney offers the perfect environment for successful business development: a highly educated workforce, availability of land, convenient location to downtown Dallas, DFW International airport and McKinney National Airport, competitive incentives and a nationally acclaimed quality of life.

These characteristics have earned us accolades such as:

• Fourth best place to raise a family in Texas – Smart Asset

Innovative economic development is a central component of our City Council's strategic plan, resulting in a historical increase in McKinney's activity and quality of life. The McKinney Economic Development Corporation has successfully recruited national and international like-minded industries while fueling our local companies' growth and positioning McKinney as the newest epicenter of technology.

Some of the recent MEDC's success stories include:

• Encore Wire HQ Campus: recently completed the 724,000-SF service center for a total of over 3M-SF of industrial space on their campus.
• Independent Bank HQ: 2 consecutive expansions of more than 200,000-SF of stunning Class A buildings, awarded LEED Silver certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.) for its innovative and eco-friendly design.
• Kaizen Development Partners: $63M investment to build a 200,00-SF, eight-story Class A office building as part of the mixed-use development, District 121.
• Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) campus: 200,000-SF facility supporting 500 new high-tech jobs at its RIS headquarters in McKinney, completed in 2020 and bringing its total presence in Texas to $5B.
